Hyundai Eon Will Be Launched For Less Than Rs 3 Lakhs


Hyundai Eon’s codename is HA, this was revealed by Hormad Sorabjee on his twitteratti and told that officially the car will be called as Hyundai Eon. Thus putting rest to all the dust and bringing the much needed clarity about the car that’s lately been making all the news. Given, its small sized hatch this sure quite looks to lock horns with the Maruti Alto and Chevrolet Spark.

As the name suggest the Hyundai Eon could well be in the market for many years in the domestic market which has always welcomed the small cars and hatchbacks. The Hyundai Eon could also be the new successor that takes the throne after the much famed Hyundai Santro.

This latest entrant in the small car segment, the Hyundai Eon is powered by a triple cylinder 800 cc engine similar to that of the Hyundai design parameters which is sure to be a vow with the small car fans. It has a 5 seater capacity large enough for the typical nuclear family in the metros and with the offbeat exteriors it sure looks ready to grab some eyeballs. As of now with a starting price of just under 3 lakh the Hyundai Eon offers good interior space like its arch rival Maruti Alto but might also be deprived of some features which might not bother you if you are looking for cheap one or if you are on a tight leash . Honda Jazz Launch On 18th August


The upgraded version Honda Jazz will hit Indian roads on 18th August 2011. Honda Jazz is one of the best hatchbacks in Indian market. The Company is now planning to launch a new version of it. It is a first car from the Honda India, which falls under premium compact car segment. The Honda Jazz is one of the popular cars around the world, it is well known for its spacious interior and elegant exteriors.

The Honda India clams that the new Honda Jazz is equipped with a 1.2L i-VTEC engine with four-cylinder. It is capable to produce maximum power of 90 PS at 6,200 rpm and a peak torque of 110 Nm at 4800 rpm. According to the ARIA the upgraded version of Honda Jazz gives the mileage of 16.1 Kmpl on Indian roads. The upgraded version of Honda jazz is expected to price at less than 6 Lakh. The pre-bookings are already opened. It is expected to compete with Skoda Fabia, Hyundai i20, Fiat Punto, Maruti Swift in domestic market.

Maruti Swift 2011 Launch on 17th August


Maruti Swift is known as a best hatchback in India, The Company is now planning to launch the upgraded version of Maruti Swift on 17th August 2011. The New Maruti Swift is expected to equip with a 1.2L VVT Petrol Engine, which will have a capacity to churn out the maximum power of 92 Bhp on Indian roads. The Company has already launched the Maruti Swift 2011 in European market and yet to be launch in India. As per as the official source, the Maruti Swift 2011 has already got 38 thousand pre-bookings. This is the first time in the history of Indian car Industry, that a new model has got such a huge response.

Compare to the earlier version, the new Maruti Swift looks wider and expected to have some changes in Interior as well. This model will compete with Toyota Etios Liva, Ford Figo, Nissan Micra and Hyundai i10 in domestic market.

Speaking on the launch the managing executive officer of MSIL said “The strong response is unprecedented, particularly because the new model has not yet hit the showrooms and pricing points have not been decided”.

Mercedes Is Planning To Launch Luxury Hatchbacks Cars In India


The German based luxury car maker Mercedes-Benz is one of the promising brands in India. The Company is planning to launch luxury hatchbacks in 2012. The company is targeting the middle-class people of India and as well as to grab the luxury car market in India.

Speaking on the occasion head of New Delhi Ernst & Young’s Auto Mr. Rakesh Batra said “Better highways, higher disposable incomes and the growing aspirations of people in India will fuel growth in luxury-car sales; the count of the millionaires has been increasing in India the demand for the luxury cars will also boost.”

The upcoming luxury hatchbacks are expected to compete with BMW models in India. These models will be the first hatchbacks from the Mercedes Benz in India.Mercedes-Benz India at present has 22 dealerships across 17 cities in 11 states and 2 Union Territories of India and has its Service Stations in 32 cities in 16 States and 2 Union Territories of India. Mercedes-Benz India recorded sales of 2,402 vehicles in the first half (January-June) of 2011.

General Motors Steps Back To Introduce Electrical Cars In India


General Motors is one of the promising car manufacturers in Indian market. It had a plan to into electric car market, but recently the Company has confirmed that they have decided not to manufacture Electrical Cars. The main reason behind to make this decision is ‘The infrastructure of Electric Board’ in India.

Vice president of General Motors India Mr. P Balendran said that "We have proved, by displaying the electric car in Delhi, that we have the technology. But where is the infrastructure, particularly power?" He also added “when there was power shortage for domestic purposes; it would be difficult to get additional power for recharging the car battery. Such bottlenecks could be a problem to commercially launch an electric car in India.”

He also hinted that the Company is planning to introduce 5 new vehicles in the next 18 months in Indian market. The Company has recently launched Chevrolet Beat Diesel in Indian market and as per now the recently launched Beat Diesel is getting a good applause from the customers.

Nissan Sunny Will Launch In Oct 2011


Nissan Sunny is one of the luxury sedans, which is expected to launch in October 2011. The Japanese car manufacturer Nissan is likely to launch this model in Indian market. Nissan Sunny was first showcased its upcoming sedan at international Automobile Exhibition in Guangzhou (china) in 2010. It will be a global sedan which is going for sale first in China in the beginning of 2011 and across 170 countries globally. When it comes to India, The all-new global sedan will be the second brand built under Nissan’s ‘V’ podium. Nissan’s Oragadam plant which is near to Chennai will manufacture the engine of the new sedan. Nissan Sunny will compete with the models like Volkswagen Vento, Mitsubishi Lancer, Toyota Corolla Altis, Honda Civic, Maruti SX4 Diesel, Toyota Etios, and Hyundai Verna Fluidic in India.

The Company is also intending to launch small cars by 2012. The price tag of these small cars will be around 3-5 lakhs, and excepted to compete against Chevrolet Beat Diesel, and the upcoming models Maruti Cervo and Honda Brio. Nissan is also planning to enter MPV (Multi-purpose Vehicle); the company has already collaborated with Ashok Leyland to manufacture MPV, which will directly compete with Toyota Innova.
