US based auto maker, Shelby Super Car (SSC) has decided to launch the world’s fastest car – ‘The Aero’ in India. This car will first launch in Mumbai in coming few months and follow it up with Delhi launch. The Aero is capable of reaching half the speed of jetliner. This new speed machine will cost over Rs. 6 crore that will make it the costliest car sold in India. India will be the third market where the car is sold after America and Russia.
The Aero is equipped with 6.35 litre twin-turbo charged V8 engine, capable of producing power of 1,183 bhp. This speed car is capable of reaching 0-60 kmph in just 2.7 seconds. The Aero is built of lightweight titanium and carbon fibre material. This car is two-seater with up-sky folding doors and comes with ultimate luxury features like customized supple leather seats, multi-speaker music system, on-board video and DVD screens, automatic backup camera and navigational backup. Aero will use only premium unleaded 91 high octane petrol which is available in some of India’s bigger cities.
SSC has decided to launch in India after seeing a sales growth of world’s top luxury car makers like BMW, Bentley, Audi, and Mercedes-Benz in Indian market. But this car will compete with other supercars like Bugatti, Ferrari and Lamborghini. India, the world’s second fastest growing car market (after China), has seen the fast growth of luxury cars sales despite a global economic meltdown.
