General Motors is one of the promising car manufacturers in Indian market. It had a plan to into electric car market, but recently the Company has confirmed that they have decided not to manufacture Electrical Cars. The main reason behind to make this decision is ‘The infrastructure of Electric Board’ in India.

Vice president of General Motors India Mr. P Balendran said that "We have proved, by displaying the electric car in Delhi, that we have the technology. But where is the infrastructure, particularly power?" He also added “when there was power shortage for domestic purposes; it would be difficult to get additional power for recharging the car battery. Such bottlenecks could be a problem to commercially launch an electric car in India.”
