Ford Fusion 2013 Exposed

Ford Fusion is coming all out with a fuel-efficient powertrain in the midsize car segment. The car will be available in hybrid and plug-in hybrid alternatives. It will be powered by an EcoBoost four-cylinder engine with an automatic start stop system. It will come with a front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive options along with the choice of automatic and manual six-speed transmissions.

The 1.6-liter EcoBoost will be the best-in-class four-cylinder non-hybrid fuel efficiency in the city and on the highway. The 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine will provide the much needed thrust to the performance of the Fusion.

The car also comes with a Lane Keeping System. This one of a kind technology helps the driver maintain proper lane position. Using a small, forward-facing camera behind the inside rearview mirror it determines if the car is on course and will alert waywardness if detected. There is also the steering wheel vibration if the Fusion drifts too close to lane markings.

The next generation car will also come with adaptive cruise control with radar system and enables collision warning if the potential of a crash is detected. The dream car also has an Active Park assist to identify a suitable parallel parking space and all the driver needs to do is operate accelerator and brake pedals.

The wanna be James Bond flick car springs up yet another surprise with the Blind Spot Information System (BLIS) which detects traffic in a driver's blind spot, providing both audible and visual warnings. It warns the driver of oncoming traffic when backing out of a parking space with obstructed views, such as between two large vans. The Ford Focus gives a tough run to the likes of the Honda Civic, Hyundai Elantra and its own Ford Fiesta.
