Nissan X Trail Re Launched

Nissan X Trail is all set clear its poor trail of sales in the past which failed miserably due to its hefty price. The car had a huge price tag mainly because it was directly delivered from Japan through the CBU route. However the company seems to have learnt its lessons from the past and this time around, Nissan has a strong strategy in mind. Nissan has released a special edition of the Nissan X-Trail along with ten new features in the country at the price of Rs. 22.78 lakh.

The company this time is pretty confident of making a successful mark as it believes the right mix of marketing and the recent success of Mahindra XUV500 shows that there is enough demand for the SUV market in India. As a part of the marketing strategy the Nissan X-Trail will be the official vehicle for an adventure reality show on the National Geographic channel. The show will be called as “X-treme Trail”. In the show the participants will have to trail across tough terrains like the sandy and hot deserts of the Thar to the cold and cracky hills of the Himalayas including a host of other tricky and tough terrains. The competition will have eight people who will have to successfully complete the off road drives. The Nissan X-Trail vehicle will be looking to showcase its mettle through all these terrains.

The car in fact is also doled with numerous additional features including the rear scuff plate, rear spoiler, X-Treme Trail decal, and X-Treme Trail door visor set, kicking plate with LED, cargo drawer, floor mats, side moulding and rear bumper protector. Apart from this the basic build and quality of the vehicle has been retained. The off roader is run by a 2 litre of M9R common rail turbo diesel motor that delivers a maximum power of 150 BHP along with 320 Nm of torque. The transmission comes in 2 gearbox options. There is a manual six speed gearbox and the other one being the automatic six speed gearbox. Let’s just hope this time around Nissan X-Trail has got it right and can make a successful trail on the Indian roads.

The TV show will be of 6 part series starting on November 5 and will be telecasted simultaneously on National Geographic Channel, Fox Traveller, Star World and Channel V. The show X-treme Trail will start off on Saturday, 5th November at 8 pm. The car is priced at INR 2,278,928 LE-Grade (ex-showroom, Mumbai). The SUV will dash against the likes of Honda CRV, Ford Endeavour, Toyota Fortuner, Toyota Innova, Mahindra Scorpio, and Tata Safari.
