BMW X3 To Hit Indian Market By June 2011



BMW X3 is ready to hit Indian roads; India’s largest luxury car maker BMW has recently leaked the information about the launch date of BMW X3. It is well know luxury SUV around the globe; the Company has recently launched its cheapest SUV BMW X1 in Indian market. But it did not glow due to its cheap quality which does not meet BMW standards. The Company is investing Rs 180 crores to expand its production and dealerships in India.

The President of BMW Mr. Andreas Schaaf recently stated in an interview that “The X3 to be launched in India will be assembled from completely knocked down (CKD) kits at the Chennai plant.” He added “BMW is committed to India. The group sees huge potential in the market and plans to expand its product range this year, the company have increased the capacity of its Chennai plant to 10,000 per annum from earlier capacity of 8,000 units”.

BMW X3 will directly competes against the models like Audi Q5 in India, currently the company is selling its models through 20 dealers, it plans to increase the dealerships up to 40 by 2012 in domestic market.
