Car Sales in February got Huge Demand

Car Sales – All the Major Car manufactures in India has recorded strong car sales in February. The main reason behind it is the union budget in March. Customers advance booked cars due to fear of hike in prices after union b budget 2011-2012. However the budget unveiled on February 28 left excise duty unaltered at 10-22 percent. But still there are rumors of a 2 percent of hike in prices.

The largest car maker Maruti Suzuki has recorded the double digit growth sales in February. It has reported 20% of growth by selling 101,543 units. Mahindra & Mahindra and Tata Motors saw the same results like Maruti Suzuki.

Toyota and Ford saw sales led largely by new model launches. "Sales growth was largely driven by sale of Etios at 2,786 units," said Sandeep Singh, deputy managing director, marketing, Toyota Kirloskar Motors. Ford India President and Managing Director Michael Boneham said, "Figo has taken Ford to a new level in India. Building on Figo's success, the US auto major will be offering the Fiesta, a premium sedan as part of its ever-growing product portfolio."

Chief executive, automotive division, Mahindra & Mahindra Mr. Rajesh Jejurikar said "The auto sector has been maintaining a healthy double-digit growth."

The second top car maker Hyundai Motors has recorded 5 percent of growth in February. Arvind Saxena, director - marketing and sales, Hyundai Motor told "We expect the average industry growth rate to stabilize in future months."
