Porsche Targets 500 units this year

Porsche is one of the promising German luxury car makers. It has recently stated that it is planning to sell 500 units in 2012.It sold only 130 units in the last year. The luxury cars are getting great demand in India, so the competition in this segment is high. The luxury brands like BMW, AUDI, and Mercedes Benz getting good sales records.

Speaking on the target Sales Director of Porsche Mr. Mohamed Rahman said “We are hoping to sell around 500 units this year. So far, we have got bookings for 217 units. Though our sales will be based upon the demand (from customers), our target is to sell around 500 units this year.”

The company is also planning to launch a hybrid car in India. The car is already named as Panamera; Porsche is planning to display it in the upcoming Geneva Motor Show. The director of Porsche India said “This product is for those who love to have the Porsche experience.”

Speaking on Panamera Sales Director of Porsche Mr. Mohamed Rahman said “This we have showcased in the Geneva Motor show. We will be introducing it globally in the next few months.” But he did not reveal the price of it. He confirmed that it will have 3.0L petrol engine. The expected price tag of this car is more than 50 lakhs in India.
